NERO IMPALA®
Fintsone´s Nero Impala® is probably one of the most well known and widely used granites in the world. Over 80% of the 90.000 m3 of Nero Impala® quarried in South Africa is exported into the international market for use in construction (interior and exterior) and monumental industries with the material being carefully assessed and graded into dark, medium and light colour. Nero Impala® is also one of only three materials worldwide that is widely used for surface plates due to its suitable physical properties and available block sizes.
MINACO. The current stratigraphic location of the quarry is such that oikocryst reflectors are generally small and limited in number, making the material highly sought after in both the construction and monumental markets. It is considered one of the best Nero Impala® materials on the market because of the uniformity of colour.
SPRINGBOK. Part of the Finstone Group Quarries is considered a premium material due to the dark material (IN) of Nero Impala®.
NERO ZIMBABWE
The Nero Zimbabawe Quarries are situated 170km north east of the capital of Harare, Zimbabwe, in the Maputo and Mudzi districts. Quarrying began in 1973 producing two main categories of material namely fine grain and coarse grain, divided into various grades according to stringent quality control.
Nero Zimbabwe is a high volume material producing large blocks for use in the construction industry with the darker colour being used mainly in the monumental industry.
olive green®
Quarrying Olive Green® began in 1996 at the Bloemhoek Quarry, 14km north west of Springbok in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa. Over 95% of the 9 600m3 of Olive Green® produced annually is exported as either Olive Green® Flowers or Olive Green® Lines depending on whether it is cute ‘with the grain’ or ‘against the grain’.
Olive Green® is a popular and reliable material used mainly in the construction industry, which is currently gaining popularity in the monumental industry in Poland, France and Germany.
